About
Melissa Cacha founded DOUGH & BATTER in 2008. She’s a graduate of The International Culinary Center (formerly The French Culinary Institute) in NYC, where she received a degree in classic pastry arts. Prior to earning her degree, she spent decades in the fashion industry as a visual display artist for high-end luxury and ready-to-wear fashion brands. Her creative eye, attention to detail, and an internship with one of New York’s most-renowned cake designers, lead her into the wide world of cookie design.
In late 2019, Melissa and her husband left NYC and bought their first home in upstate New York, where she continues to design, create and bake custom edible works of art. In addition to Dough & Batter Melissa is also a specialty sprinkle maker, check out Sprinkle Robot!

When I am not baking for DOUGH & BATTER you can find me producing unique royal icing sprinkles that sometimes make their way on to your custom cookies. Four times a year I do a sprinkle drop over at my Etsy Shop. Both home and professional bakers add my sprinkles to their cookie, cupcake or cake creations!
